My youngest is a big fan of the 5 Nights at Freddy’s games. Fun little “scary” arcade style game where you play the role of a newly hired manager of a kid’s pizza and arcade center like the old Chuck-E-Cheese of my youth. Which was just as loud and scary for it’s own reasons. And as expected in the game, the creepy animatronic characters come to life and try to attack you. Brilliant and full of jump scares. Lot’s of fun, so why not bring it to life with a 3D printed project.
Thanks to the good folks at Thingiverse, someone did the work for me. All I had to do was print it and paint it. The cleanup for this one was extremely difficult as are most projects that aren’t modeled for printing. But the results came out better than expected when I sliced the model up into multiple layers.
After a coat of primer and a mount to a small plaque, it was ready for the finial touch, a small LED light on the back to make the eyes glow. I originally used a red LED, but I think the whole family agreed it might be a little too creepy so we switched it to white.
